Action was established over thirty-five years ago by Congress
as a centerpiece of the War on Poverty. The goal of Community
Action is to reduce poverty, revitalize low-income communities
and empower low-income individuals and families to become fully
self-sufficient.
New
River Community Action (NRCA) has been a well-known
proponent of self-sufficiency in the New River Valley of Virginia
since 1965. Our mission is to promote and support the
well-being and self-reliance of individuals, families and
communities.
NRCA
is a private non-profit charitable corporation according to
IRS code 501(C)(3). All contributions are tax-deductible.
 Mark
your calendars! Texas Roadhouse in Christiansburg is
sponsoring a fundraising night for NRCA on Monday,
April 7, 2008 from 4-10 p.m. NRCA will
receive 10% of the total sales of people that come out to
support the event. Important: You must present the Fundraising
Flyer to the server to qualify your sales
for the 10% donation to the group. Invite all your friends
and family and enjoy the evening while you help raise money
for NRCA!
